Samantha Carter, LAC
Samantha is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and a Master’s Level Intensive In-Community (IIC) provider. She is a graduate from Caldwell University, having obtained a Master’s degree in Counseling with specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling.
Samantha works in a wide variety of settings including outpatient therapy, in-home therapy, and as a school counselor in a public high school setting. Within these settings, she has a passion for working with adolescents, adults, and families. Consistently throughout her practice, Samantha works effectively with individuals with anxiety, depression, self-esteem struggles, relationship issues, family conflict, through life transitions, with behavioral disorders including oppositional defiant and avoidant behaviors, teaching social skills, addressing school concerns, and providing support for grief/loss.
Samantha recognizes every client as a unique individual and therefore understands that her therapeutic approach must be fluid to best serve the client. Samantha integrates techniques from various theoretical approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Holistic Therapy.
Samantha has a direct and genuine approach that incorporates humor while validating, empathizing, and supporting her clients. She believes that a trusting and genuine therapist-client relationship is imperative to creating a safe environment where individuals can flourish.
