Megan Alberti, LCSW
Megan is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New Jersey and has 7 years of experience providing direct mental health services to clients. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Syracuse University and her Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University where she also received a certificate in the Violence against Women and Children Program. Previously, Megan was a therapist and program director of a residential facility treating children and adolescents with behavioral and mental health challenges associated with trauma as well as helping their families develop behavioral management skills.
Megan currently works with individuals, couples and families of all ages and has experience in treating individuals coping with trauma, depression, anxiety, stressors associated with life events, and difficulties in navigating interpersonal and familial relationships. Additionally, Megan has extensive experience working with school aged children and adolescents with issues related to bullying, self-esteem issues and behavioral challenges in the home. In therapy, Megan utilizes a multi-faceted approach to best meet the needs of her clients, including techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Informed Care, Structural Family Therapy, Play Therapy, the Nurtured Heart Approach as well as others.
Megan believes in cultivating a safe environment where clients can feel validated and respected. Megan feels that approachability, having a sense of humor and empathy are key elements in building the therapeutic relationship. She looks forward to using these tools to empowering her clients and promote their personal growth.
