Lori LoManto, MA, LPC, CDAC
Lori is a Licensed Professional Counselor who graduated with an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Nyack College in NYC. She has 10 years of experience working with women and children with life controlling problems, such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, substance abuse and trauma. As a licensed clinical supervisor, Lori has taken all the required courses to assist with drug and alcohol counseling and is grounded in the 12 step program. She has worked 3 years in a psychiatric facility, working with clients on recreational activities, restructuring their thought process, meeting goals and gaining new skill sets to function in the community. Lori draws from many different therapeutic methods, which include theories such as Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy.
Throughout her career Lori has learned that the relationship between counselor and client is the most important step to good counseling sessions. Therefore, her counseling theories are based on the needs of the client. She establishes a safe environment and collaborates with the client to meet their goals and objectives. Lori believes that with good counseling the client can create change, gain strength and feel empowered.
