Lauren McCarthy, LPC
Lauren is a Professionally Licensed Counselor in the state of New Jersey and New York who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Loyola University, Maryland and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Syracuse University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Lauren has clinical experience working with presenting issues related to trauma, self-esteem, anxiety disorders, depression, borderline personality disorder, as well as other mental health diagnoses.
Lauren uses a person-centered approach with theoretical frameworks in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She also integrates other techniques and approaches based on the individual needs of each client. Lauren places importance on the relationship building process to create a safe and comfortable environment for clients to explore their personal challenges and feel empowered to make positive change in their lives.
