Jacqueline Meringer, LSW

Jackie is a Licensed Social Worker in New Jersey. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a specialty in child development from Moravian College and her Master’s degree from Fordham University School of Social Work. Jackie has 4 years’ experience in providing mental health services and advocacy as well as supportive services. She has served an array of ages and backgrounds of individuals and families in various non-profit settings.

Jackie has extensive experiences that include adults, children and adolescents with behavioral issues, impulse control, oppositional defiant, ADD/ADHD, depression, family conflict, and parenting strategies. Her clinical experiences has included working with individuals who are experiencing sexual, physical and emotional trauma, addiction disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, as well as other challenges that individuals and families may face.

Jackie utilizes a variety of different therapeutic approaches to address a range of presenting problems such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness interventions, family systems, psychodynamic, motivational interviewing, and a variety of other therapeutic approaches to address individual needs. Jackie allows the therapeutic environment to flourish by adapting approaches to best fit the presenting problem.

Jackie believes that in order to create a positive therapeutic alliance, trust in the relationship and rapports are the core premise to facilitate change. Jackie will support the individual or families through self-reflection and personal growth to obtain goals and reach their greatest potential. Jackie incorporates different forms of art, humor, and empathy into the therapeutic setting to generate a positive and enriching therapeutic environment.
