Chelsea Maher, LAC
Chelsea is a Licensed Associate Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Counseling and specializations in both Mental Health and School Counseling from Caldwell University. Chelsea enjoys working with adolescents and young adults to promote the development of coping skills, increased self-esteem, social skill development, and post-traumatic growth. She is also passionate about working with individuals who are experiencing disordered eating behaviors, negative body image, anxiety, and depression.
Chelsea’s experience in providing both school-based and clinical mental health counseling services helps her provide effective holistic care. In these settings, Chelsea utilizes an eclectic approach to ensure personalized care and to find interventions that are successful. It is important to Chelsea that the client feels they are a part of their own treatment, making therapy a collaborative form of care. She applies techniques from various frameworks of therapy including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and strength-based therapy. Chelsea also encourages parents/guardians and other family members to take part in the client’s treatment to promote a warm and encouraging environment for success.
