Amanda DeMayo, LAC
Amanda is a Licensed Associate Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor, with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University. Amanda is particularly passionate about working with children, adolescents, and teens in areas such as anxiety, social anxiety, depression, attention-deficit hyperactive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and autism spectrum disorder.
Amanda utilizes an eclectic approach to counseling due to her belief that each client requires different strategies and techniques from the therapeutic relationship. She applies techniques from different theoretical approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, strength-based approach, and solution focused therapy. Due to her belief on the importance of the family system, Amanda also encourages parents/caretakers to be involved in the therapeutic process with her clients. She provides a warm and encouraging environment for clients to work collaboratively and creatively with her to maximize their potential and ultimately reach their goals.
